Introducing Bridgette Olek, a Minnesota native with a passion for animals that began at a young age. Growing up surrounded by farm animals, Bridgette developed a deep love for all kinds of animals, but it wasn’t until adulthood that her journey into dog training truly began.
After bringing Jefferson, her first dog, into her life, Bridgette faced an unexpected challenge when they moved from rural life to a downtown Denver apartment. The change in environment was a big adjustment for both of them. Jefferson, previously accustomed to an open space and a slower pace, became reactive in his new, confined environment. With hundreds of unfamiliar dogs in the building and a cramped living space, Jefferson’s anxiety escalated, leading Bridgette to seek solutions through training.
Bridgette’s experience with Jefferson’s reactivity sparked an interest in understanding dog behavior on a much deeper level. This journey became a turning point for Bridgette, who soon discovered a passion for dog training and helping other owners facing similar challenges. By 2021, Bridgette was assisting friends and family with their dogs, and in the spring of 2024, she began an apprenticeship with Scott Ross at Chill Out Dog Training. This mentorship refined her approach and expanded her knowledge, ultimately shaping the fair & unique training style that she now brings to every session.
Bridgette believes in a tailored approach to training, understanding that each dog is unique. For her, the key to success lies in balancing positive reinforcement with reasonable boundaries that actually make sense to dogs. Whether addressing reactivity, anxiety, or general obedience issues, she strives to build trust and confidence in every dog and owner she works with. Bridgette finds great fulfillment in the moments when an owner experiences a breakthrough—when a piece of advice “clicks” and they begin to feel more confident in their role as a leader for their dog. Seeing a dog return for their second session calmer and more at peace is one of the most rewarding parts of her work, as well.
Outside of dog training, Bridgette has a background in corporate marketing, a profession that taps into her creativity and problem-solving skills in a completely different way. She also embraces Colorado’s natural beauty, enjoying hiking, camping, DIY home projects, and unwinding at local breweries with friends. Bridgette’s well-rounded interests and approachable demeanor shine through in both her professional and personal life, making her a relatable and dedicated trainer who connects with dogs and their owners on a personal level.
With her hands-on experience, commitment to Chill Out’s proven training style, and genuine love for animals, Bridgette is sure to help you and your dog navigate the path to a stronger and happier relationship.
